VoIP means Voice over Internet Protocol – a way of receiving calls using the internet. Any of our numbers can be forwarded to VoIP destinations as required.
This method of connecting calls may be used for destinations like SIP IAX2 or H.323, the protocols that we currently support for VoIP termination.
The inbound call has to go through a server that manages VoIP traffic and can then be answered in a number of ways, e.g. with software or by using an actual handset.
In cases where you manage your inbound calls with an IP PBX service (i.e. an Asterisk server or other SIP device), simply use our Cloud Numbers and we will deliver the traffic to your existing system.
